Payment

Payment method is Cash or Debit/Credit Card

Online bookings require a valid credit/debit card to secure the booking, this will not be charged unless the booking is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice

Payment is due at the end of each session. For block bookings payment will be expected upfront.

Block bookings are designed to be used weekly (1 session per week for 6 weeks). However we are happy to extend the packages under special circumstances. All block booking sessions must be completed within 3 months.

No refunds or partial refunds are given for block bookings unless it is cancelled by Balans Acupuncture.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel your booking for any reason, it must be with a minimum of 48 hours notice. If cancelled with less than 48 hours notice the full session price will be charged to the card the booking was made with. Any bookings made without a valid card verification will be invoiced and must be paid within 7 days or at the next session, whichever is earliest

You must inform your practitioner if you are running late, any arrivals after 15 minutes of the start of your appointment time will be cancelled and will be charged.

Disclaimer

Advice and treatments provided by Balans Acupuncture are complementary treatments and not an alternative to conventional western medical opinion or treatment.

During your initial consultation you have to inform your practitioner of any medical conditions past and present. It is the patients responsibility to check with their medical practitioner their suitability for Acupuncture Treatment

Balans Acupuncture is committed to protecting and respecting data and privacy.

Why we store personal data and what we do with it

When registering details with Balans Acupuncture, details are stored and processed for the following reasons;

• personal information is required  to provide treatments requested.
• To Providing acupuncture and associated services constitutes an agreement, and will require Balans Acupuncture to process data in order to fulfil this and provide services to the standards expected by The British Acupuncture Council.
• Balans Acupuncture record, store and process this information based upon a ‘Legitimate & Medical Interest’.
• Balans Acupuncture may occasionally send a newsletter, offers and discounts or information that could be of interest and benefit health and wellbeing. To withdraw  consent at any time email siwan@balansacupuncture.com

Personal data may be provided to Balans Acupuncture in a number of ways (Email, Post, In Person, Website) including from third parties or directly from you.

Retention Period:
The record keeping requirements for Acupuncture practitioners is seven years.

Storage:
records are stored in paper form and in a locked facility as well as on a secure hard drive.

Third-Parties / Outsourced Providers:
data will not be shared with any third party without prior written or verbal consent. Only the following people/agencies will/could have access to data;
• Siwan Watkins-Doyle (acupuncturist for Balans Acupuncture)
• Government agencies should this be required for fulfilment of contract

Data Access Requests:
Balans Acupuncture owns all clinical records, the right to access information can be requested by emailing siwan@balansacupuncture.com and submitting a “Subject Access Request”. Balans Acupuncture will respond to this request within one calendar month.

Data Rectification:
Any data believed to be incorrect can be rectified by request and Balans Acupuncture will respond within one calendar month.

Complaints process:
Any concerns that Balans Acupuncture have mishandled or breached our responsibilities in handling personal data, please contact the Data Controller at siwan@balansacupuncture.com. Balans Acupuncture are strongly committed to protecting personal data. If unsatisfied, contact directly the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK Data Protection Supervisory Authority.
